This is my personal site, up on the Web since maybe late 1997, and it is where it all started. I learned to build websites and discovered digital illustration while working on earlier versions of this site.

It is called Obake Zukan, Japanese for, Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Monsters. It is still live here and updated every once in a while.

The image on the left here is the Flash entrance, and the one on the right is the page about zombies.

The site has been featured in many magazines, two TV shows and a radio show. Yahoo! Kids Japan selected it as one of the cool sites. Many web portals have featured it. It was a part of a monster event at a public library in Mie prefecture, Japan. At least several teachers have gotten kids to learn about the web and monsters using this site as a jumping board. I have been interviewed many times to talk about my fascination with monsters. I constantly receive e-mail inquiries from fellow enthusiasts...

So you see, it's not just me. Quite a few people think monsters are cool!
